Job Title:
Temporal Analyst

Role Overview:
Join the Field Studies Institute as a Temporal Analyst, where you will play a crucial role in the analysis and integration of data found within transient objects. These objects, often tied to Spacetime Deviations or other anomalous events, hold keys to understanding historical events across two (or more) timelines. You will be responsible for constructing a cohesive and accurate timeline that aligns these objects with our current understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:
Analyze information found within transient objects to extract historical, cultural, and scientific information.

Timeline Reconstruction: Develop and maintain comprehensive timelines that incorporates findings from various transient objects to provide a clear understanding of historical events and their impact on each timeline.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Field Recovery Technicians, physicists, and data scientists to cross-verify data and refine timeline accuracy.

Documentation and Reporting: Document findings in detailed reports, presenting complex chronological data in an understandable format for both academic and non-academic audiences.

Innovation in Research Techniques: Innovate and improve research methodologies for analyzing and integrating information from transient objects.

Field Work: Participate in field excursions (travel required) to work with Field Recovery Technicians to recover new artifacts, requiring hands-on, on-site analysis.

July 2 1998

I discovered an interesting object during my many perusals of the Archives this week. I've taken a few days to sit on it. It's quite a complex piece despite its simplicity.

A tape. Yes, another tape! But this one is different from the others, both due to the time I believe it was recorded, and its proximity to the events of 12/31/1969.

Based on session notes from Project SOMA, we are certain that other short-term deviations were created (and collapsed) in experiments that have been well documented. The experiments which utilized the Mayfly specimen remain some of the most interesting that I've found, in my short time here.

Of note, however, is this tape, which was discovered during the search of the office of Arthur Reese on 1/1/1970. Seemingly recorded by Dr. Dorothy Ross before she utilized the object, it's clear from the recording that there was an intent to come back to local spacetime (as previous experiments showed was indeed possible), AND that Dr. Reese did NOT appear to have intent to use it with her, at least to her knowledge.

Note to self: Remember your role, here. Utilize the Archives to complete your tasks, but do not get caught up in the minutia! Asked manager to be re-sent job description. Keep on desktop! Reference it!
